I purchased this for numerous scratches/dings and paint transfer on my car and it worked excellent. I drive an Infinity I35 and my dings/scratches disappeared. Maybe it's the quality of the paint on the car. It looks as new now. I'm happy with this product and will purchase another for my mom. Not sure for scratches deep into the paint though.

I was concerned about all the negative reviews on this product and just to be safe, ordered this one and the Quixx Paint Scratch Remover and the Simoniz Fix It Pro Clear Coat Scratch Repair Pen - however, for me the Simoniz S11 Fix It Scratch Repair Kit just worked terrific. I had a hairline scratch (black on white), received the product today, before applying shook it well, and then used the microfiber cloth to apply it. Within 20 seconds and a little bit of back and forth (horizontal and vertical) brushing it, the scratch had indeed met its match!
Highly recommend it - follow instructions on the bottle and it worked. Saved a bunch of $$$s taking this to the repair shop for sure.
The battery operated buffing tool is a bonus - but it did not do too much for me - didn't seem to make any difference (seems like an unneeded add-on). WOuld have preferred to get a few more microfiber cloths instead of this tool.

As owner of RECON Mobile Dent and Paint in Las Vegas I fix scratches every day, and maintain a website at needrecon for the do it yourselfer. This product is great for paint transfer, but it will not repair a scratch or a gouge. If you scrape your fingernail across the scratch and cannot feel it, this product will repair the problem. It's downside is leaving behind swirl marks, but if you apply pressur ethe first time you use it then reapply with no pressure, you will minimize the swirl mark. A swirl mark is sometimes described as a hologram. If you can feel the scratch with your fingernail, but it is not through the color (most cars have a clear coat over a base or color coat) you might be able to sand the scratch out then polish the sand marks away, which I recommend for an expert or a very good detailer.

If you really expect to get rid of scratches with car wax, you will be disappointed. Having had no such expectation, I found that the product can be useful in 2 ways.
Firstly, if the car has some stubborn dirt spots that don't come off at the car wash, this gets them out, nicely and with a minimum of elbow grease. Secondly, having used some touch-up paint (which is what you really need, to cover scratches) this can be used to smooth it out a bit. It does not blend it in perfectly, but it makes it a bit subtler.
Let's not kid ourselves. The only thing that really gets rid of scratches is a new, professional paint job. But if you want something that is easy to apply for spot-cleaning and doesn't smell bad, this product is fine.

This product works on very superficial scratches and scuffs. If you see through the paint to the metal, this will not work. I tried it on my mothers scratch and it didn't make a difference.
Having some golf clubs with sky marks, I was able to buff out some superficial scratches and rust marks. Deep scratches, this will not help.
This is a mediocre product that will only work for a very superficial scratch.
CONCLUSION
Recommended for light/superficial scratches. If you have deep scratches, you need touch up paint.
UPDATE
I scratched my new car. Man, was I mad. I took touch up paint to cover the gash. I proceeded to use this compound and buffer to smooth out the touch up paint, after it had dried. It not only helps with superficial scratches but works on paint that is applied a bit too thick.
